Jamison sits again vs. Wizards
It won't be much of a homecoming tonight for Antawn Jamison. He is sidelined for the third straight game with swelling in his left knee.
Jamison took part in pregame shooting at the Verizon Center, his home arena for 5 1/2 years. But by sitting tonight, he'll have three more days to get ready before the Cavs play in New Jersey. Scott is hopeful Jamison can return then, but the swelling in his knee has been slow to subside.
"It's just a real slow process," Scott said. "Unfortunately we thought it would heal a little quicker, but it hasn't. It's still puffy. The swelling has gone down, but it's not gone. And the tenderness and non-flexibility has gotten better, but it's still not there to the point where he doesn't feel it. We're just seeing if we can alleviate every pain that he has so when he plays, it's not a recurring issue."
Joey Graham took advantage of some of Jamison's minutes, scoring eight points in eight first-half minutes last night against Philadelphia. Scott said that earned Graham another look tonight.
"The good thing about that is he stayed ready," Scott said. "He hadn't gotten an opportunity to play, but he never complained and just kept working in practice. When he got his opportunity, he took advantage of it."
