LeBron James isn’t just returning to the Cavaliers. He’s returning to his old number, too.
James will wear No. 23 this season with the Cavaliers, he wrote on his Twitter account Sunday. He wore that number for seven seasons with the Cavs before changing to No. 6 when he joined the Miami Heat.
“23 it is!” James wrote. “It’s only right I go back.”
James also posted old pictures to his Instagram account of him in his old Cavs jersey and his No. 23 at St. Vincent-St. Mary.
James has routinely topped the list of NBA jersey sales, and ESPN’s Darren Rovell reported during the week following James’ decision to return, 80 percent of all sales at the NBA Store were LeBron-related.
