LeBron says he's happy in Miami, answered questions 'truthfully'
LeBron James didn't back off his comments from a day ago, but said he is happy in Miami and Heat fans have nothing to worry about.
"The question was asked to me could I see myself playing back here. I said yeah, in the sense I don’t know what my future holds and I don’t want to take that out," James said Friday. "But I love the fans of Miami and I have everything invested with this team. I’m looking forward to the years to come."
James on Thursday left open the possibility of returning to play for the Cavs one day, something that angered Heat fans and left open the possibility James could opt out of his contract during the summer of 2014.
Asked if he unintentionally started another LeBron Watch, James said he was already in one.
"For the most part, everything I do is a LeBron watch," James said. "My mindset is on this season. My mindset is on helping this team win a championship and as a team get better every day. I'm looking forward to getting back to Miami and seeing the fans."
James left his family in Akron last season while he adjusted to the dramatic life change, but moved all of tthem to South Beach this year after he got engaged on New Year's Eve.
Asked why Cleveland fans should believe him, James responded: "I answered it truthfully. I answered the question truthfully. But it's all about this season for me and it's all about playing with this Miami Heat team and trying to win an NBA championship. The fans of Miami shouldn't be worried about anything at this point."
