Tonight’s the night for Leon Powe.
After watching for the better part of the season, he’ll dress for tonight’s game against the New Orleans Hornets. He’s under no grand illusion about his role, but he is looking to contribute.
‘’It’s been a long time coming. I just want to get out there and help my team win,’’ he said. ‘’I just need to get my rhythm back and timing. We’ll see what happens tonight.’’
Powe will face an issue that has nothing to do with his surgically repaired left knee – the availability of minutes. With seven of them on the roster, he could find himself fighting for leftovers.
‘’I’m not worried about nothing. I believe in my game,’’ he said. ‘’I’ve been on a team with a lot of big men already, we won a championship.’
