Cavs trade, the remix

By Jason Lloyd Published: May 29, 2011

Apparently I need to clarify my earlier post, since I just returned home a little bit ago to a pile of e-mails reminding me how stupid I am.

Public consensus seems to be that Kyrie Irving and Derrick Williams are the two clear-cut stars of this draft, head and shoulders above everyone else. And if the Cavs were anguished over which one to take, it would make plenty of sense for the Cavs to trade up to No. 2, thereby ensuring they'd get both of them.

Cavs trade rumor doesn't make sense

By Jason Lloyd Published: May 28, 2011

An ESPN.com report says the Cavs have discussed a three-way trade with the Timberwolves and Pistons that would net the Cavs the top two picks in next month's draft.

That sounds well and good, but it doesn't quite make sense.

Kemba Walker is almost 6 feet tall

By Jason Lloyd Published: May 20, 2011

Point guard Kemba Walker measured 5-foot-11 1/2 without shoes on at the NBA Combine on Friday. His height had been a concern entering the combine and a mark like that won't help. He measured 6-1 in shoes.

Walker averaged 23.5 points and 4.5 assists while carrying UConn to the national championship. He wasn't too concerned over the measurement.

CHICAGO: Kyrie Irving's body fat measured 10.2 percent Friday at the NBA Combine, a byproduct of the toe injury that cost hm three months of his freshman season at Duke.

Enes Kanter anxious to get back on basketball court

By Jason Lloyd Published: May 19, 2011

Enes Kanter is one of the few top picks willing to work out for NBA teams this week. In fact, he can't wait.

Kanter is anxious to prove to teams why he is projected to go so high after being forced to sit out last season because the NCAA viewed him as a professional. He had committed to Kentucky, but never got to play a game for the Wildcats. The last time anyone saw Kanter on the floor was when he was at the Hoops Summit last summer, when he opened eyes with some big performances.

Derrick Williams won't work out, sees himself as small forward

By Jason Lloyd Published: May 19, 2011

Arizona forward Derrick Williams has some work to do this week, but it won't come on the basketball court. Projected as the No. 2 overall pick behind Kyrie Irving, Williams (like Irving) won't work out this week for teams at the NBA Combine.

Instead, he'll spend the next couple of days proving to them he's a small forward and not a power forward.

Irving won't work out, won't sign with LeBron

By Jason Lloyd Published: May 19, 2011

Kyrie Irving won't work out for NBA teams during the NBA Combine this week in Chicago, he confirmed Thursday morning. He is here simply for the medical tests and to prove his injured toe is 100 percent healthy. The workouts will come at a later date.

What won't happen is Irving signing with LeBron James' marketing firm, LRMR. In fact, according to Irving, it was never even close to happening despite reports to the contrary.

By Jason Lloyd Published: May 17, 2011

The Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA's draft lottery tonight, overcoming long odds in the process to do it.

The Cavs will select first and fourth in next month's draft after the pick they obtained in a midseason trade with the Los Angeles Clippers turned into the winning combination of pingpong balls: 14, 13, 7, 8.

Touchdown: Secaucus

By Jason Lloyd Published: May 17, 2011

So I just arrived at NBA Entertainment headquarters in Secaucus, N.J. for tonight's draft lottery. Trust me, if you weren't looking for this place, you wouldn't find it. I WAS looking for it and STILL couldn't find it.

The only thing that gives the building away tonight is the small Jerry West logo on the side of the building and the 27 blacked suits standing out front, none of whom have smiled since their 7th birthday.
