Magic complete season sweep of Cavs
Dwight Howard had 28 points and 18 rebounds and Brandon Bass added 22 points in the Orlando Magic’s 97-86 win on the road over Cleveland, completing the first season sweep of the Cavs since 2002-03.
The former rivals are now a giant mismatch. The Magic won all four games this season by an average of 10.6 points.
The Magic outscored the Cavs 18-4 over the final five minutes of the first quarter to take command of the game. Howard had 12 points and nine rebounds in the first quarter. They built the lead to 26 late in the third and were never threatened despite the Cavs cutting the deficit to nine on a 3-pointer by Christian Eyenga late in the fourth quarter.
J.J. Hickson had 18 points, Daniel Gibson had 16 points off the bench and Eyenga had 12 off the bench for the Cavs, the league’s worst team and losers in nine of their last 11 games.
Jason Richardson had 11 points and Ryan Anderson had 12 off the bench for Orlando, which has won four of its last five.
