NOTES:
* Games against the Nets are always close enough to bring out the New York media, which means Byron Scott and various players spent their morning talking about LeBron James again. It's fascinating to watch Scott answer the same questions over and over as the team travels to various towns. He never gets upset or irritated with the line of questioning.
* Scott has hinted around at goals he has set for the team this season, but he has kept them in his head to this point. He hasn't even shared them with the players. But he said today if people knew what they were, they might think he was crazy. I tried again to pull anything out of him, but Scott wouldn't bite. "Do your goals include making the playoffs?" I asked, thinking I could pin him down. "I expect to win. Period. That's just me. I expect to win and I expect these players to feel the same way." Then he flashed a wry smile at me. Swing and a miss.
* Boobie Gibson has played extensively in the fourth quarter lately, but don't expect him to start anytime soon. Scott said the defensive matchups on the other end prevent him from starting Gibson and Mo Williams in the same backcourt. But he has no problem playing them together with the game on the line in the fourth quarter. The Cavs are 2-0 -- with two fourth-quarter comebacks -- with those two playing together and Anthony Parker at small forward.
* As expected, Gibson was with the team at shootaround this morning. He missed practice on Monday to tend to a personal matter, but he's back and everything is good.
