Notebook
* The Cavs have lost four straight and eight of their last nine games. They are tied with the Toronto Raptors for the league's second-worst record. Now they'll face the Pistons for the second time this week after losing at Detroit on Monday 89-79.
* The Cavs fell behind 30-17 at the Palace on Monday, a recurring trend since Dion Waiters went down with a sprained ankle. Waiters is again doubtful to play tonight, leaving the Cavs to continue searching for ways to score.
* The Cavs haven't shot better than 37 percent in any of the three games they've played without Waiters and Kyrie Irving. They have failed to break 80 in two of the three and set a season-low in points in Friday's 91-73 loss at Minnesota.
* The Pistons aren't much better. They played Friday, too, losing to the Bulls at home. Their only victory since Nov. 28 was Monday's against the Cavs. They're 1-10 on the road, with their lone victory coming at Philadelphia on Nov. 14. They've lost their last four road games.
* Jason Maxiell made life miserable on the Cavs on Monday. He had five of the team's season-high 13 blocks, the most the Pistons have had in a game in more than five years. The Cavs have to get more out of Tristan Thompson than what they got Friday night, when Scott was forced to pull him less than four minutes into the game because his defense was ineffective.
* Turnovers continue to creep up on the Cavs. They had 20 turnovers Friday against the Timberwolves, including five by reserve C.J. Miles. The five turnovers negated some of his 13 points off the bench.
* Scott played everyone who dressed on Friday in search of rest for some of his starters and offense. He conceded after the game his guys aren't playing with a whole lot of confidence right now. He didn't seem to think Waiters had much of a chance of playing tonight, but that Tuesday against the Lakers seemed a little more realistic. That means another night of searching for offense anywhere he can find it.
* Cavs owner Dan Gilbert was apparently taking a healthy dose of backlash on Twitter for the team's poor start. Gilbert defended the team on his Twitter account Saturday afternoon, writing that the Cavs' rebuild started the day the team drafted Kyrie Irving "18 short mnths ago. No options prior to then. Pain along way-no doubt. Look closer&U will see plan."
