Preseason Game 5: Cavs vs. Spurs, Pregame Notes
Cavs vs. Spurs, 7:30 p.m., at Petersen Events Center, Univ. of Pittsburgh
Pregame notes:
* The Spurs are using almost all backups tonight. Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Richard Jefferson were given the day off and aren't even with the team. All of them flew directly to San Antonio following the Spurs' game in Mexico City earlier this week.
* This will count as a home game for the Cavs, but expect to see plenty of Spurs fans. Tonight is a homecoming for DeJuan Blair, who played two seasons at Pitt before leaving for the NBA.
* Neither Mo Williams nor Anderson Varejao will play tonight, although both will make the trip to Pittsburgh. Williams is still bothered by the groin injury and Varejao's ankle isn't quite 100 percent.
* Byron Scott isn't sure of his starting lineup yet. He said he has the two hour bus ride over to Pittsburgh to think it over.
* The Cavs went through another strenuous practice this morning. They won't have long to recover. They'll shower, eat and board the bus for the game.
