Kyrie Irving will start at point guard for the Americans in Tuesday's final exhibition game before the FIBA World Cup begins, ESPN reported today.
Irving will start next to Goran Dragic against Slovenia, while Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski (Irving's college coach) hinted Irving and Derrick Rose could alternate starts thoughout the World Cup.
"We'll see as thing goes on," Krzyzewski told ESPN.com Monday. "We might alternate 'em. Both of them are going to play significant minutes."
Krzyzewski also said he'd like to play Irving and Rose together during stretches. Rose has missed nearly two full seasons while recovering from separate knee injuries.
The Americans open World Cup play Saturday against Finland.
