Samardo Samuels misses trip to Toronto, Christian Eyenga sent to D-League
TORONTO: Samardo Samuels was uanble to make the trip to Toronto for tonight's game against the Toronto Raptors because of passport/visa issues and Christian Eyenga was sent to the Cavs' Development League team in Canton.
Samuels lost his passport during the lockout and was unable to get the paperwork processed in time for the trip. He will rejoin the team Thursday in Minneapolis, where the Cavs will face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. The loss of Samuels likely makes Ryan Hollins the backup center tonight against the Raptors.
Eyenga appeared in just one game for the Cavs -- Tuesday night against the Charlotte Bobcats. Coach Byron Scott has said for weeks Eyenga was far behind Omri Casspi and Alonzo Gee in the pecking order at small forward. Eyenga played in the D-League for 15 games last season.
