The numbers behind the Cavs' losing streak

By Dan Published: February 7, 2011

The Cavaliers haven't won a game since beating the New York Knicks 109-102 in overtime on Dec. 18. That is a total of 48 days, not including today.

When the streak started, the Cavs were 8-19. They're now 8-43.

If the Cavs wouldn't have beaten the Knicks in overtime, the losing streak would be at 35 games.

To date, the Cavs' losing streak has lasted 16 more days than William Henry Harrison's presidential term. It has lasted six more days than the Falklands War in 1982.

The most points a player has scored against the Cavs during the streak was Dwayne Wade with 34 on Jan. 31.

In Cleveland's 112-57 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Jan. 11, L.A. could have forced overtime by scoring zero second half points. Los Angeles' Ron Artest lead all scorers in that game with 15 points.

During the steak, the Cavs have been outscored a total of 2,608-2,265. That averages out to 108.7-94.4 per game. Teams have scored 100 points or more 21 times while the Cavs have scored more than 100 seven times. During the streak, the Cavs have been held to 90 points or less on five occasions. The Cavs have given up 110 or more points in 12 games. The Cavs have scored 110 or more in one game.
