The Waiting for Ilgauskas Begins or Does It?
No news here, but the Washington Wizards bought out center Zydrunas Ilgauskas' contract Thursday and waived him, freeing him to sign with any NBA team.
Were he to sign with the Cavaliers, he would have to wait 30 from the date of the trade. The earliest he can return to the Cavs is March 21.
But the Cavs made a move Wednesday that should get some attention. They sent forward Darnell Jackson and rookie guard Danny Green to the Erie Bayhawks, their D-League affiliate for what could be as many as three games, coach Mike Brown said.
If the Cavs get Ilgauskas back, someone will have to go. The Cavs have three options - Sebastian Telfair, Jackson or Green. It's a possibility that these two or three games will be the most important, so far, of their young careers.
