Williams, Gibson also out vs. Bulls
The Cavs will be without three regulars tonight when they face the Chicago Bulls. In addition to Anderson Varejao, who did not make the trip because of a fractured cheekbone, Mo Williams (hip) and Daniel Gibson (thigh) are also out.
Both Williams and Gibson went through pregame stretching and shooting, but neither felt good enough to play. The Cavs will start Ramon Sessions and Manny Harris in the backcourt and Leon Powe in place of Anderson Varejao.
"That's three big blows," coach Byron Scott said. "Health-wise, we're not doing really well."
The trio of Williams, Gibson and Varejao comprise 40 percent of the Cavs' offense this season, while Varejao is the defensive glue and the leading rebounder at 9.8 per game.
The team is waiting on the swelling to go down in Andy's face before he can be fitted with a mask. He will not play Sunday at home against the Dallas Mavericks, but Scott remains hopeful he can return Wednesday against Toronto.
