Otto Porter, Cleveland Cavaliers won't meet during combine
CHICAGO: When he was asked about the NBA teams that felt like the best fit for him, the first team Otto Porter Jr. mentioned was the Cavaliers. Yet he won’t be meeting with Cavs General Manager Chris Grant and the team’s traveling party during this week’s NBA combine.
That’s mildly surprising, but it doesn’t mean the Cavaliers aren’t interested in the small forward from Georgetown.

Cavaliers guard Dion Waiters named to All-Rookie first team; Tyler Zeller named to second team
Dion Waiters was named to the first team All-Rookie Team on Tuesday and Tyler Zeller was named to the second team. The league's 30 coaches voted on the award. They were asked to vote for five players for the first team and five for the second team, regardless of position.
Waiters received 21 first-team votes and eight second-team votes, while Zeller received three first-team votes and nine second-team votes.

Cavs to interview Phil Handy for coaching staff
The Cavaliers were granted permission from the Los Angeles Lakers to interview Phil Handy for Mike Brown's coaching staff, the Lakers confirmed on Thursday. Handy was Brown's player development coach with the Lakers.
Handy is known as a tireless worker who was introduced to Brown through an old connection. According to a recent story on the Lakers' website, St. Mary's College coach Randy Bennett introduced the two. Bennett was an assistant coach at University of San Diego when both Brown and Cavs general manager Chris Grant were students there.
