By Jason Lloyd Published: May 20, 2016

CLEVELAND: Twenty-one thoughts for 21 3-point attempts in Thursday’s 108-89 Game 2 victory over the Toronto Raptors for a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference finals…

1.      In the pregame session prior to Game 4 in Atlanta during the conference semifinals, Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer approached the podium like a man defeated. For three games, he tried everything he could think of to disrupt the Cavs’ rhythm.

2.      He switched defensive schemes, juggled his starting lineup and rotation. Some of it worked quite well.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar watches LeBron James take game to higher level, shares 'cool' moment afterward

By Marla Ridenour Published: May 20, 2016

CLEVELAND: Last year before Game 3 of the NBA Finals, LeBron James bowed in front of legendary Browns running back Jim Brown.

James crossed paths with another iconic Hall of Famer on Thursday night at Quicken Loans Arena. As he sprinted off the court after a 108-89 victory over the Toronto Raptors in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals, he spied former Los Angeles Lakers center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar standing outside the Cavaliers locker room, shaking hands with players as they entered.

James and Abdul-Jabbar first did the same, then embraced and patted each other on the back.

“How are you feeling?” Abdul-Jabbar, 69, asked James, the video of the encounter posted on Abdul-Jabbar’s Twitter.

Cavaliers continue to keep Raptors guard Kyle Lowry in check in Game 2 of Eastern Conference Finals

By Michael Beaven Published: May 20, 2016

CLEVELAND: Confidence for any athlete can be fragile.

For Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry, it appears as though his belief in himself has at the very least taken a minor hit, though he says he is “super confident.”

Lowry struggled through yet another playoff game Thursday night as the Cleveland Cavaliers earned a 108-89 win before a sellout crowd of 20,562 to take a two games to none lead in the best of seven Eastern Conference Finals.

Lowry, who averaged 21.2 points per game in the regular season, contributed just 10 points Thursday by making 4-of-14 field goals (including 1-of-8 from 3-point range) and 1-of-2 free throws in 34 minutes. His Game 2 performance followed a Game 1 on Tuesday that saw him score eight points by making 4-of-14 field goals (including 0-of-7 from 3-point range) in 32 minutes in a 115-84 loss to the Cavs.

By Jason Lloyd Published: May 19, 2016

CLEVELAND: LeBron James called Shaquille O’Neal the most dominant player of James’ lifetime. The Cavs’ superstar, however, may one day be considered the most dominant of his generation.

James recorded his 15th postseason triple-double on the same night he moved past O’Neal on the all-time scoring list and the Cavaliers remained perfect in these playoffs with a 108-89 victory Thursday in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals.

James had 23 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, Kyrie Irving scored 26 points and Kevin Love had 19 points for the Cavs, who became the fourth team in history to start a postseason 10-0.
