Cavs 123, Hawks 98; Jason Lloyd's 25 thoughts on a historic shooting night

By Jason Lloyd Published: May 5, 2016

CLEVELAND: Twenty-five thoughts for 25 3-pointers in Wednesday’s 123-98 win over the Atlanta Hawks to give the Cavs a 2-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals…

1.      One by one, the 3-pointers fell from all sides of Quicken Loans Arena. One by one, 10 different Cavs landed them. LeBron James made four. J.R. Smith made seven, including some off one foot while spinning and falling out of bounds. Moondog even made one from half court flipping it over his head – on his first try.

2.      And when it was over, when Dahntay Jones and Mo Williams completed the assault and the Cavs walked off the floor with an NBA-record 25 3-point baskets, the Cavaliers had officially returned serve on the Golden State Warriors.

LeBron James says he'd like to face Dwyane Wade, Heat in conference finals

By Jason Lloyd Published: May 4, 2016

INDEPENDENCE: LeBron James has wanted to face Dwyane Wade in the playoffs since the two entered the league together 13 years ago. He could be three wins from finally getting that chance.

James and the Cavaliers could be on a collision course with his former team in what would be a fascinating Eastern Conference finals. Both the Cavs and Miami Heat hold 1-0 leads in their conference semifinal series and James acknowledged Wednesday prior to the Cavs’ Game 2 against the Atlanta Hawks that he has thought about facing his old team in the next round.

“Naturally, of course. That’s since I came back (to Cleveland),” James said. “It’d be great to play against those guys in the postseason.”
