-Michael Brantley returns to the starting lineup for the first time since Monday when he sustained a mild concussion while attempting to break up a double play at second base. Brantley pinch hit for Mike Aviles in the ninth inning of last night's game, blooping a single to center field.

-Omar Vizquel will become the 40th person inducted to the Indians Hall of Fame in a pregame ceremony.

-Likely as a result of the Vizquel ceremony, Progressive Field is sold out for tonight's game. This is just the second sellout of the season, the other being Opening Day.

-The Indians face Justin Verlander on the mound, but it's not the same Justin Verlander that has dominated the AL Central for years. After an uncharacteristic 2013 in which he took a slight step back, Verlander has taken a major step back this year and has actually been the Tigers worst starting pitcher with a 4.98 ERA and a declining strikeout rate.

-Nick Swisher is starting at designated hitter for the seventh time in eight games since returning from the disabled list.

-After struggling to start the season behind the plate, Yan Gomes has really stepped his game up, particularly concerning his arm. After throwing out two more runners last night, Gomes has thrown out 16 runners, third in the MLB. More impressive, especially considering his rocky start to the year, is his 33% caught stealing rate, a top-10 mark among regular catchers.

-The Indians will look to limit damage not only from two-time reigning MVP Miguel Cabrera, but the two guys with the last name "Martinez" in the middle of the Tigers lineup. Victor and J.D. each hit home runs last night, marking the third time the pair has done that this season. All have come against Cleveland.
