ROYALS 4, RAYS 1 -- The Royals scored two runs in the both the eighth and ninth innings to steal a victory from the Rays. Tampa Bay starter James Shields had a no-hitter heading into the eighth inning. Kansas City center fielder Mitch Maier drove in three runs. BOX SCORE

YANKEES 8, WHITE SOX 5 -- Melky Cabrera became the first Yankee to hit for the cycle in 15 years as the Yankees finally beat the White Sox, avoiding a sweep in the four-game series finale. BOX SCORE.
