By jcfortun Published: July 27, 2009

Cleveland Indians relief pitcher Winston Abreu has been suspended for three games and fined an unspecified amount by Major league Baseball for intentionally throwing at Jack Hannahan of the Seattle Mariners during the ninth inning of Saturday's game.

Indians manager Eric Wedge received a one game suspension, effective tonight, for Abreu's actions after warnings had been issued to both benches.
