MINNEAPOLIS: Manager Manny Acta rejects the idea that playing in chilly weather has contributed to Carlos Santana's slump even though as a native of Dominican Republic, he is unaccustomed to the spring cold and rain encountered in the northern states.
""He played in Akron two years ago, and Akron is cold early in the season,'' the manager said. ""I think everybody minds the weather, but both teams have to play in it. It has been rough, though.''
Anaheim is the only venue where it's been reasonably warm (low 60s), and Santana was 0-for-10 in the Tribe's three-game series with the Angels.
