Back to Erie pitcher Pat Stanley.  Stanley’s throw sailed past first base allowing Weglarz to score on an error. Second baseman Shawn Roof then tried to get Mills at second and threw the ball into left field to score Santana.

Star of the game: Gomez improved his record to 8-3 by throwing seven strong innings, striking out eight and scattering four hits.

Up next: The Aeros continue their four-game series against Erie at 7:05 at Canal Park. Newly acquired Right-hander Connor Graham will make his Akron debut, Erie will counter with right- hander Jonah Nickerson (7-7, 5.12 ERA).
