Aeros McBride named EL Player of the Week

Akron OF Matt McBride was named the Eastern League Player of the Week for the period ending July 4.

McBride bashed six home runs during the week - including a franchise-record tying three during the Aeros win at Bowie Thursday.

The 25-year old also hit safely in each of his seven games, batting .370 (10-for-27) during the week with four walks, two doubles, six home runs, seven runs scored and nine RBI.

McBride was drafted as a catcher in the second round of the 2006 draft by the Cleveland Indians.
