Breaking: Indians power past White Sox 12-5

By Ryan Lewis Published: May 2, 2014

The Indians scored more runs in the first inning of Friday's game than in any single game during their 0-6 road trip and took down the Chicago White Sox 12-5 Friday night.

Carlos Santana (two RBI) and Michael Brantley (three RBI) each hit solo home runs. The Tribe put up five runs in the first inning and continued to pile on from there. Yan Gomes and Ryan Raburn each drove in two runs.

For Santana, it's his third home run in four games. For Brantley, it's his fifth homer of the season.

Danny Salazar (1-3) threw five innings and gave up five runs, though only three were earned. Gomes had a passed ball and Elliot Johnson had two errors filling in at second base for Jason Kipnis.

The Indians move to 12-17 this season and snap a six-game losing streak. The White Sox fall to 14-16.
