Feller battling leukemia

By Sheldon Published: August 29, 2010

CLEVELAND: Indians Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Feller revealed today that he is being treated for a form of leukemia that tends to strike elderly men.

Feller, who will be 92 in November, began treatment about 10 days ago at the Cleveland Clinic, where doctors gave him a blood transfusion and began administering a regimen of chemotherapy through injections.

The disease is treatable, and Feller's daily routine has changed little.

""I feel pretty good now,'' he said. ""I take nap for an hour in the afternoon. I went to the doctor because I was feeling tired.''
