By Stephanie Storm Published: July 4, 2014

Here’s the lineups for tonight’s game at Progressive Field that kicks off the first of a three-game weekend series between the host Indians and Royals Friday night:

Indians (41-43)

Michael Bourn CF

Asdrubal Cabrera SS

Michael Brantley LF

Carlos Santana 1B

Jason Kipnis 2B

Lonnie Chisenhall 3B

Nick Swisher DH

Yan Gomes C

David Murphy RF

Josh Tomlin RHP

Royals (44-40)

Lorenzo Cain CF

Eric Hosmer 1B

Billy Butler DH

Alex Gordon LF

Salvador Perez C

Raul Ibanez RF

Alcides Escobar SS

Mike Moustakas 3B

Christian Colon 2B

Yordano Ventura RHP

* The last time the Indians and Royals met, Kansas City won both games of a two-game set, outscoring the Tribe 13-6 at Kauffman Stadium. After getting hot and briefly taking over first place in the American League Central Division, the Royals now trail the first-place Detroit Tigers by 4 1/2 games and own a three-game lead over third-place Indians.

* Royals second baseman Omar Infante was a late scratch from the lineup with lower back stiffness. Thus, shortstop Alcides Escobar moved up from batting ninth to seventh and Christian Colon slid into Escobar’s original spot in the batting order while taking over for Infante at second base.
