Hernandez's 2012 debut set for Wednesday

By Sheldon Ocker Published: August 11, 2012

CLEVELAND: Roberto Hernandez will make his first start using his real identity on Wednesday against the Angels in Anaheim.

The three-week suspension imposed on him by Major League Baseball for using a false identity-- that of Fausto Carmona -- ends tonight, and he will free to be activated any time after that. However, manager Manny Acta said that Hernandwz will not be added to the team until the day he is scheduled to start.

His first start will coincide with the day Chris Seddon is schedculed to pitch, which means either Seddon or another pitcher will be lopped off the roster to make room for Hernandez.

One option is to put Seddon in the bullpen and move another reliever to the minors. However, after grooming Seddon to be a starter all year, it is unlikely he will be transformed into a reliever.

""We haven't made that decision yet,'' Acta said. ""Obviously, Seddon is unavailaibel today and tomorrow (becasuse he pitched six innings Friday night).''
