Indians at Orioles: Pregame lineup and notes

By Marla Ridenour Published: May 25, 2014

* Shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera will run before the game to test his sore left knee and right big toe. Manager Terry Francona said the trainers will wait to see how he reacts, with the possibility Cabrera could be available today. He'll more likely play Monday in Chicago against the White Sox.

* Second baseman Jason Kipnis, on the disabled list with a strained right oblique, will get the day off today on a rehab assignment in Triple-A Columbus and play for the Clippers Monday. He will join the Inidians in Chicago Tuesday for the final two games of the three-game series against the White Sox.

  * First baseman Nick Swisher returns to the lineup after sitting out the last two games with a right knee injury. Swisher said he tweaked it while rounding first base Wednesday against the Detroit Tigers.

* Carlos Santana moves into the second spot in the order, a position regularly held by Swisher (39 games). Santana batted cleanup to start the season, but has moved around recently. Francona said Santana was hitting second only for today.
