Triple-A Columbus (4-0) – Clippers 2B CORD PHELPS and RF BUBBA BELL combined to go 6-for-9 with three runs, two home runs and six RBI (four by Phelps) to lead Columbus to a series sweep of Indianapolis with a 7-5 victory at Victory Field...RHP ZACH MCALLISTER earnd the win in limiting the Indains to four runs on seven hits in five innings and RHP ZACH PUTNAM notched his first save of the season.
Double-A Akron (2-2) - The Akron Aeros benefitted from five two-hit innings from RHP AUSTIN ADAMS to beat Binghamton 1-0 Sunday at Canal Park to earn a split in the four-game series. In his Double-A debut, Adams picked up the win in walking just one and striking out six...The Aeros lone run came on a B-Mets throwing error in the bottom of the fourth inning as C CHUN CHEN scored from second...INF JASON DONALD made his first rehab start for the Aeros, going 1-for-3...Closer and RHP CORY BURNS struck out the side in the top of the ninth inning to earn his second save of the season.
High Class-A Kinston (1-2) -The host K-Tribe lost to Winston-Salem 4-2 at Grainger Stadium, allowing the Dash to win two-of-three games in the opening season series...RHP CLAYTON COOK made his Carolina League debut, holding the Dash scoreless until the top of the sixth inning when he a two-run home run. In 5 1/3 innings, Cook allowed the two runs on six hits to take the loss...CF ABNER ABREU went 3-for-4 with two doubles and arun scored.
