Indians officially put Michael Bourn on DL, call up Corey Kluber

The Indians recalled right-hander Corey Kluber from Triple-A Columbus and put center fielder Michael Bourn on the disabled list today.

The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the Major League roster:

Recalled RHP COREY KLUBER from AAA Columbus

Placed OF MICHAEL BOURN on the 15-day DL with a lacerated right index finger (retroactive to April 15).

Kluber has made two starts with Columbus this year (12.1IP, 14H, 9R/ER, 1-1 record) and was with the Indians last week (April 10-12), but did not appear in a game.   He wears #28.

Bourn suffered the injury sliding into first base in the 8th inning on Sunday vs. Chicago-AL and is beginning just his second career stint on the Major League DL (first since 2007). He is hitting .333 (14-45) with 4 2B, 1 3B, 2HR & 2 RBI in 10 games and is currently T10th in the AL in extra base hits (7) and 15th in OPS (.975).
