Indians recall C.C. Lee; rotation set for Tigers series

Right-hander C.C. Lee was recalled from Triple-A Columbus before Friday night's game against the Detroit Tigers in Comerica Park.

Lee will be enjoying his third stint with the Indians this season. He's recorded a 4.76 ERA in 11 1/3 innings of 13 games; batters have hit just. 167 with runners on base against him.

With the Clippers, Lee went 0-1 with a save and a 4.13 ERA in 24 innings of 20 games. In nine June appearances, he compiled a 1.69 ERA in 10 2/3 innings.

Trevor Bauer (3-4, 3.84) will start for the Indians Friday against right-hander Anibal Sanchez (6-3, 3.04).

In Saturday's day-night doubleheader, right-hander Corey Kluber (9-6, 3.01) takes the mound against right-hander Drew VerHagen (6-7, 3.67) in the first game at 1:08 p.m. In the 7:08 p.m. nightcap, right-hander Zach McAllister (3-5, 5.63) faces Max Scherzer (11-3, 3.35). In Sunday's 1:08 p.m. finale, right-hander Josh Tomlin (5-6, 4.21) goes against left-hander Drew Smyly (5-8, 4.00).

McAllister was optioned to Triple-A on June 20. On Saturday, McAllister will be the 26th man the Indians are allowed because of the double-header.
