Indians select right-hander Casey Shane

The Indians selected right-hander Casey Shane in the sixth round today.

Here is the team's release:

In the 6th round (171st overall) the Indians selected RHP CASEY SHANE from Centennial High School in Burleson, Texas.

The 6'4', 200-pound right-hander went 5-2 with a 1.60 ERA (9ER/39.1 IP) with 77 strikeouts as oppossed to just 8 walks for the 2013 Centennial Spartans. He held opposing batters to a .143 average against and a .205 OBP. Shane, 17, did not allow a single home run in 39.1 innings as a senior. The Texas A&M commit was recently named to the Rawlings All-American First Team.

The Indians have selected pitchers in each of the last four rounds.
