CLEVELAND: Though no announcement was made tonight, the Indians will activate Matt LaPorta from the disabled list for Wednesday night's game against the Yankees.
LaPorta has been on the DL since June 18 with a high ankle sprain, but he passed his final test in his final workout today.
To make room for LaPorta on the roster, Josh Judy will be optioned back to Coolumbus, Acta apparently preferring to go with an extra position player for one day rather than an extra reliever.
Two moves will have to be made before Thursday night's game with the Blue Jays. Acta announced that Zach McAllister will be called up from Columbus to start in place of Fausto Carmona, who is on the DL with a strained right quad. To make room for McAllister, a position player will be lopped off the roster.
