Welcome Aeros fans!
If you're looking to learn more about your team, you've come to the right place.
And what better time of the year to launch this blog than Opening Day - my personal favorite holdiay. What? You don't consider the first day of the season to be worthy of a day off of school/work? Please, the only thing better than Opening Day is the day the Playoffs begin. As you can see, I take my baseball very seriously. Just ask my husband, who has come to understand that during the season, he often takes a backseat to my first love.
I've been delighted to learn that many of you enjoy the game as much as I do. Over the years while covering the Aeros for the Beacon (this season is year five) I've heard from many of you - whether it be at games or by email. Over and over you've told me that you want more baseball news - especially more regarding the Aeros and the Indians minor league teams. So do I. Thus, in my quest to increase all things baseball, this blog was born.
While I'm rarely found without an opinion regarding baseball, I'm asking all of you to lend a hand. Let me know what you'd like to talk about. Let me know what players interest you or the kinds of things you find confusing about the minor leagues. Trust me, the debate between winning versus developing players causes many heated arguments (anyone remember Game Five of the Eastern League Championship Series last year when the Indians brass wouldn't let ace Adam Miller pitch?). Good or bad, just write so that we can make this blog the place to visit for even the most casual fan.
One last thing. While many fans might be bummed the Aeros had to cancel Thursday's home opener because of snow, I'm looking at the positive. Now, Opening Day becomes a two-day holiday!
All my best,
