Myers suffers setback

By Sheldon Ocker Published: July 2, 2013

KANSAS CITY, Mo.: – Brett Meyers (right elbow inflammation) never made it to the mound Monday night at Lake County and apparently has suffered a setback.

“”He was warming up to come into the game and didn’t feel good,’’ manager Terry Francona said. “”He was supposed to throw two innings (about 40 pitches). He was examined and the (MRI) scan came back good. But he will do no throwing for three to five days, then we’ll reevaluate him.’’

Myers no longer is being prepped to start. If and when he returns from the disabled list, he will be in the bullpen.

“”When we get home, we’ll have to sit down and talk to see how he can progress with this,’’ Francona said. “”He want to get back out there and help us out.’’
