Perez shut down with tendinitis

CINCINNATI: After an examination in Cleveland Monday, an MRI scan revealed mild tendinitis in Chris Perez's right shoulder.

The Tribe closer will be shut down for five to seven days then be reevaluated to determine when he can begin a throwing program. The test: If he is pain free, he will be permitted to play catch.
