Raburn goes deep again, but Tribe loses to Padres

By Sheldon Ocker Published: March 2, 2013

GOODYEAR, Ariz.: Ryan Raburn continued his hot streak at the plate, but the Indians loset 11-8 to the Padres this afternoon at Goodyear Ballpark.

Raburn hit his fourth home run of the spring with two runners on base in the Tribe's six-run first inning, but the staff couldn't hold the lead.

In seven exhibiton games, Raburn is batting .600 (9-for-15) with a team leading nine RBI. This in no way guarantees that he will leave Arizona with a roster spot.

""Obviously, he feels very good about himself right now,'' manager Terry Francona said. ""He's confident, and he's putting up very good at-bats.''

Raburn was abetted by Asdrubal Cabrera, who doubled and singled twice and Nick Swisher, who also had two singles and a double plus one RBI.

Ubaldo Jimenez was scheduled to throw three innnigs, but he failed to retire any of the first five batters in the third and was taken out. He was charged with five runs and seven hits. He also walked one and hit a batter.
