Salazar will take Jimenez's start on Wednesday

MIAMI:  Danny Salazar is in and Ubaldo Jimenez is out, at least for one day.

Manager Terry Francona mentioned that he was thinking of reworking the Indians' rotation for the four-game series with the Tigers that starts Monday.

This is what he came up with; Corey Kluber in the first game, followed by Justin Masterson, Salazer and Zach McAllister.

Jimenez has struggled against the Tigers since coming to Cleveland in 2011. For his career, he is 5-9 with a 5.32 ERA in 16 starts. This year, he has faced Detroit three times and posted a 1-2 record and 6.92 ERA.

""Some of it is that,'' Francona said, referring to his reasons for the move. ""It's also a chance to give him a little blow.''

Salazar has one big league start on his resume. In his major-league debut July 11, he gave up one run and two hits in a 4-2 win over the Blue Jays. Salazar carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning and came out of the game after the sixth.

""Let's see what the kid can do,'' Francona said.

After the start, Salazar probably will return to Columbus and Jimenez will start against the Angels on Friday.
