Sinkhole threatens to delay game

By Sheldon Ocker Published: June 11, 2013

ARLINGTON, Texas: A water pipe broke behind the pitcher's mound at the Ballpark in Arlington three hours before game time, creating a sinkhole.

Batting practice for both the Rangers and Indians moved to the inside batting cages while workman replaced the pipe and filled the hole. Repairs were expected to be completed before the scheduled first pitch, but that was not assured.
