By sstorm Published: August 5, 2010

The Aeros roster was affected in three ways Thursday afternoon when CA Damaso Espino was promoted to Triple-A Columbus, CA Juan Apodaca was acquired from the Boston Red Sox organization and activated and Indians RHP Anthony Reyes was was recalled off his rehab assignment to Cleveland.

Espino had been Akron’s everyday catcher for the majority of the season, batting .250 in 59 games. The 27-year-old native of Los Santos, Panama, joins his cousin and RHP Paolo Espino, who was promoted Tuesday to Columbus.

Apodaca was a part of today’s trade in which the Indians also re-acquired former Aeros INF Argenis Reyes from the Boston Red Sox for cash considerations.

Apodaca, 24, had been on the disabled list for Triple-A Pawtucket since July 20th, but played at Canal Park last month as a member of the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs. In 55 combined games this season, the native of Caracas, VZ, is batting .239 with three home runs and 12 RBI.

Reyes was 0-1 with a 17.36 ERA with the Aeros in two starts over the last two weeks following Tommy John reconstructive right elbow surgery in June 2009.
