Triple-A Columbus (48-32) - Host Columbus defeated Indianapolis 6-1...RHP Jeanmar Gomez (6-7, 5.26 ERA) limited the Indians to one unearned run on three hits over five innings, while walking four and striking out six...1B Wes Hodges went 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI...3B Jared Goedert went 2-for-4 with two run scored and an RBI...2B Josh Rodriguez had three hits and scored two runs.
Double-A Akron (40-40) - Three home runs by 1B Matt McBride and the solid pitching of LHP Scott Barnes led visiting Akron to a 5-0 shutout at Bowie...With home runs in his first three at-bats in the first, fourth and sixth innings, McBride became the sixth player in Aeros history to hit a trio of longballs...Barnes (4-7, 5.55 ERA) did not allow a run over seven strong innings, scattering five hits, allowing just one walk and striking out four.
High Class-A Kinston (3-4 in second half) - Visiting Kinston topped Myrtle Beach 6-4...A trio of relievers in RHP's Brian Grening, Travis Turek and Cory Burns combined for eight innings of two-hit ball, allowing just one unearned run while striking out eight...CF Lucas Montero went 4-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored...RF Abner Abreu went 2-for-5 with two RBI.
Low Class-A Lake County (4-3 in second half) - Host Lake County lost 3-2 to Great Lakes...LHP Matt Packer (6-4, 1.86 ERA) took the tough loss, giving up just two runs (one earned) on two hits while striking out six over 5 2/3 innings...SS Casey Frawley had the only RBI for the Captains - a solo home run in the eighth inning.
Short-season Mahoning Valley (6-7) - The host Scrappers defeated Jamestown 3-0...RHP Owen Dew (1-0, 0.00 ERA) earned the win on the strength of six no-hit innings before being lifted due to pitch count. Dew, an Indians 21st-round draft pick out of the University of Central Florida, did not walk a batter and struck out three...3B Giovanny Urshela went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
