Triple-A Columbus (72-54) - The host Clippers were defeated 9-5 by Scranton..LHP Eric Berger allowed five runs (four earned) on 10 hits in just four innings...But RHP Bryce Stowell was tagged with the loss when he dished up four runs on two hits in the ninth inning...DH Matt McBride hit a two-run home run...LF Drew Sutton went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and a double.
Double-A Akron (63-59) - The visiting Aeros used a seven-run eighth inning to top Reading 15-10 in a slugfest...LHP Kelvin De La Cruz dished up seven runs on eight hits in just four innings in the no-decision...RF Jerad Head hit a pair of home runs - giving him four in a three-game span - while going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBI...SS Carlos Rivero also drove in four runs, going 2-for-5 with a double and home run.
High Class-A Kinston (24-28 in second half) - Host Kinston's game against Potomac was postponed due to rain.
Low Class-A Lake County (25-27 in second half) - Host Lake County slipped past Bowling Green 5-4...RHP Brett Brach limited the visitors to two runs on two hits over six innings, but did not figure into the decision...Indians rehabbing LHP Aaron Laffey allowed a run on a home run in one inning in his second rehab outing for the Captains...RF Greg Folgia went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI to lead the way on offense...RHP Jason Knapp is scheduled to join the Captains and start against Dayton Friday. Knapp, acquired last season in the trade that sent LHP Cliff Lee to Philadelphia, made five starts for the Arizona League Indians, going 0-2 with a 1.46 ERA.
Short-season Mahoning Valley (25-33) - Host Mahoning Valley lost 7-5 to Batavia ...RHP Michael Goodnight allowed six runs (five earned) on six hits and three walks in just 2 2/3 innings...C Diego Seastrunk went 4-for-4 with two runs scored, a double and RBI to lead the way on offense.
