Tribe calls up reliever; Barnes optioned

   CLEVELAND: Scott Barnes' horrid outing Friday night cost him a job in the big leagues, as the Indians optioned him back to Columbus today.

   Asked to pitch two or three innings following a rain delay, Barnes limped through one inning, allowng five runs, four coming on two homers.

   To take his place on the roster, the Tribe summoned right-hander Matt Langwell from Triple-A.

   In 19 relief appearances and one start for the Clippers, Langwell, 27, posted a 2-1 record and 2.30 ERA in 27 1/3 innings. He has held opponents to a .243 batting average overall, and right-handed batters hit only 186 agasinst him.
