By Ryan Lewis Published: December 18, 2013

Update (2:11 p.m.) Indians confirm trade of outfielder Drew Stubbs to the Colorado Rockies for left-handed reliever Josh Outman via text message from the team. The Indians also announced they will be conducting a conference call later this afternoon to talk about the trade.

(1:54 p.m.) A major-league source confirmed the trade, Sheldon Ocker is reporting.

[1:45 p.m.]: The Indians are receiving Outman in return for outfielder Stubbs, per Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

Outman, 29, owns a 4.61 career ERA in five seasons with Oakland and Colorado.

Last year he had a 4.33 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 13 holds while striking out 53 batters in 54.0 innings for the Rockies.

[1:15 p.m.] Per a report by Ken Rosenthal and Jon Morosi of Fox Sports, the Indians have traded outfielder Drew Stubbs to the Colorado Rockies.

It's not yet clear what the Indians are getting in return.

Stubbs would have been the fifth outfielder for the Indians behind Michael Bourn, Michael Brantley, Ryan Raburn and new signee David Murphy.

It isn't believed Stubbs will play center field for the Rockies, as Carlos Gonzalez is expected to move there.

Last year, Stubbs hit .233 with 10 home runs and had an on-base percentage of only .305
