Updated: Indians recall Morgan, option Hagadone to Triple-A; Bourn could be back in few days

By Ryan Lewis Published: May 4, 2014

The Indians today recalled outfielder Nyjer Morgan and optioned reliever Nick Hagadone to Triple-A Columbus.

This comes after center fielder Michael Bourn left Saturday's game with tightness in his left hamstring. The Indians were, for a few days, carrying nine relief pitchers, so sending Hagadone down was a logical decision with needed depth in the outfield.

Jason Giambi also left Saturday's game with a camp in his right calf. Giambi this morning said it's a little tight but he's OK and available to pinch hit if needed.

Bourn said he thinks he can return in a couple of days. Manager Terry Francona said the trainers think he might be available tomorrow. He added, "That might be a little ambitious but if they’re saying that, that’s a very good sign."
