August Fagerstrom's final thoughts following the Indians' 12-1 loss to Detroit in the first game of a four-game home series:
-Corey Kluber didn’t have his best stuff on the mound Monday. He didn’t have his best stuff in the clubhouse after the game, either. Despite a nearly three-hour cooling off period, Kluber was visibly agitated after the game. After a tense, brief one-minute interview in which he answered no question with more than 15 words, Kluber sarcastically told the media, “Good stuff today, guys.”
-Mike Aviles had a rough showing in the field and was removed after the third inning. It wasn’t necessarily because of his performance, though. The right fielder slammed his head on the ground while diving for a ball in the first inning and was experiencing concussion-like symptoms. He passed all initial tests and will be re-evaluated Tuesday. When asked if his dizziness played a part in Aviles’ second misplay, Indians manager Terry Francona said, “I sure don’t think it helped.”To read more or comment...
