RALLY FOR COMMUNITIES AND ENVIRONMENT
AT OHIO GOVERNOR'S STATE OF STATE SPEECH
[Medina, OH] Citizens and various organizations from across Ohio will rally
concerning a range of environmental and related community issues at Governor
Kasich's State of the State talk on February 24 in Medina. Demonstrators will
gather at the main entrance to Medina High School (851 Weymouth Rd, Medina
OH 44256) starting at 5 p.m. with signs aloft for the arrival of Governor Kasich.
~fracking waste from within and outside of Ohio,
~fracking waste disposal in waste pits, injection wells, and as road brine,
~pipelines scheduled to go through the Medina area.
A majority of Ohioans feel the governor's policies are not moving Ohio towards a
sustainable future. For example: Ohio solar jobs are up 31% in Ohio since 2012,
placing the state 8th nationally in solar jobs. This growth came despite the Kasich
administration's attempt last year to defund Ohio's energy portfolio, passed in
2008 via SB 221, as well as his continued support for unconventional hydraulic
fracturing, which has brought more toxic waste than jobs into Ohio
