From the Marcellus Drilling News and the Warren Tribune Chronicle:
BP has released about 180 Trumbull County landowners with 4,203 acres from leases because of legal issues and problems associated with mineral rights.
The landowners were among those who leased 84,000 acres last March to BP.
It agreed to pay a signing bonus of $3,900 per acre plus royalties of 17.5 percent.
The landowners with problem leases have been abandoned since November.
