BP American has 105,000 acres in the Utica shale in Northeast Ohio, mostly in Trumbull County.
It announced plans to drill 10 test wells, of which four have been drilled. One well is in production.
NGI's Shale Report today reported that BP America will likely decide early in 2014 whether it intends to pursue the Utica shale.
