Busy week for Utica shale permitting in Ohio
It was a busy week for Utica shale permitting in Ohio.
A total of 20 permits were issued during the week that ended March 2.
That includes 13 permits in Carroll County, one in Columbiana, three in Guernsey, one in Harrison and two in Monroe.
That brings the total Utica shale permits to 548.
A total of 255 wells have been drilled and 74 wells are in production.
A total of 33 drilling rigs are working in Ohio.
Locally, two wells in Stark County are in production: in Marlboro and Osnaburg townships. There are 13 wells permitted.
Two wells in Portage are in production: in Suffield and Windham townships. A total of 14 wells are permitted in Portage.
One well in Wayne County is in production: in East Union Township. That's the only Utica well in the county.
